The June 2017 monthly meeting of the Central New York Region of the Sports Car Club of America was called to order at 7:17 PM, Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 at the American Legion in Liverpool, NY by Regional Executive Ed Leubner. Twelve people were in attendance.

Ed Leubner made a motion to accept the minutes of the May meeting. The motion was seconded by Rex Franklin and approved by unanimous voice vote.

Regional Executive's Report
Ed would like to thank Mike Gould for his fantastic presentation and the wealth of track knowledge he brings to his passion of cars. Also Mike provides a great path for CNY membership to learn more about the Burdick dealership.
Ed asked how many in attendance had received the email blast from the SCCA new CEO.
A membership email from National details that national membership is up 49000 overall with CNY membership at 173 members as of April up from 170 this time last year. We also have a 95% retention rate.
Lockton Insurance is now offering track Insurance for SCCA members. This is based on a agreed value of the vehicle.
Ed ordered connectors for the timing lights for the solo program.

Ed mentioned a series of emails from National notifying of SCCA webinar's. These web based presentations are a great way to learn about numerous topics within the SCCA universe. The Solo presentation had 300 participants signed on, where the topics covered ECU's, 93 octane as max allowable rating, FTH class, Airbags, Safety Systems...etc.

Assistant Regional Executive's Report
A.R.E. Mark Bizzozero loves his new mini.. even after he blew up the motor.

Treasurer's Report
Jay was not in attendance, so there was no Treasurer’s report.

Secretary's Report
Chris Whaley had no report.

Activities Report
Activities Chair Ted Barbuto, reported this year's Summer Picnic and Car show will be held on August 16th 2017 at the Onondaga Yacht Club from 6 pm to 8 pm. Cost will be $10.00 for Adults, $5.00 for children 12 and under. It was agreed that the Picnic will be renamed as; "the Inaugural Lee Hidy Memorial Picnic & Car Show"



Solo Report
Solo Chair Scott Newton was excited on how successful the 1st Oswego County Airport event was with a turnout of 61 drivers and 63 total in attendance. The airport manager appeared enthused and energetic by the event. This event surpassed the highest attended event in 2012 of 53 drivers.
During the event Matt, a Syracuse University Student, from the Newhouse school was taking video and this included a 2 minute movie segment for the SU news show.
Cherry Valley has cleared all the bank hurdles and reopened as, "Lafayette Motorsports Park". We are all looking forward to the new ownership and planned updates to the facility. A rescheduled date for the canceled May Solo at Cherry Valley is tentative for October.
Scott stated that a cone order needs to be placed.



RallyCross Report
RallyCross Chair James Quattro attended the STPR event and it was a total rain out. They let people run for fun and still managed to show a $600.00 profit. The next event is August at the ES Championships.
James detailed his experience at STPR while running his Subi... During a difficult section he made a navigation mistake, where he failed to call the directions accurately, resulting in a "SHARP & SCARY" to get thru section that can be described as "Lots of Fun".

Flagging and Communications Report
Flagging and Communications Chair Mick Levy reminded us that the SCCA majors is June 23rd-25th. As well as the Sahlen's 6 hrs will be at WGI July 7th - 9th.

Old Business
Mike Donofrio reminded the membership that while this year's deadline for submission to the SCCA "Membership Hall of Fame" has passed that we still need to gather more information and put together a submission for Lee Hidy.



New Business
Paul Grover donated a tire rack to the club via open auction were Mike Donofrio grabbed the prize at a $20.00 bid.
It is agreed that CNY will plan on placing the trailer and make a presence at the July 15th Mustang Club car gathering. This is held Saturday's between 7:30 - 10:30 at the Wegman's parking lot on Rt 57.
It is agreed that cards will be produced with CNY's event list on them to hand out at car shows. While it was further agreed that keeping the club website / Facebook and other social media accounts as current as possible.


At 8:25 PM a motion was made by Rex Franklin to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Mike Donofrio and passed unanimously.

Our next regular meeting will be held Wednesday, July 12th, 2017 at the American Legion in Liverpool at 7:00PM.
